The Kinzie Blur - A Chicago Passage

Most people walk past this curve without ever looking up. The ones who stop, stop because they already know what they're looking for.

This is the Chicago that doesn't show up on a postcard. Brick against glass, the curve of the tracks pulling everything into motion, light smearing through the frame like the city couldn't hold still long enough to be photographed.

You don't stumble onto this shot. You have to already know it's here.

This is a Chicago secret

This piece is for the person who shoots the alley instead of the skyline. The one who knows the real city isn't the one everyone photographs, it's the one nobody bothers to look up for.

Not the one who wants Chicago explained to them. The one who already found the spot themselves.

Not the one who needs Pittsburgh explained to them. The one who already knows.

This isn't a print of a city. It's proof of where you're from, or where you fell in love with, whether you were born here or just never left.

Hang it up and it's not decoration. It's the part of you that still gets a little quiet every time you cross that bridge and the skyline opens up.
